Scope and Content

The volume contains two separate subscription contracts for railway company shares:

  • (a) The Manchester, Huddersfield and Great Grimsby Direct Railway Subscription Contract, 1 December 1845; with the names (signatures), descriptions, home and business addresses and amount subscribed, of over one thousand subscribers, mostly from the northern counties (chiefly Yorkshire) and from Scotland (Glasgow and Edinburgh). 59 folios.
  • (b) The South London Suburban Railway Subscription Contract, 16 June 1845, imperfect. 9 folios.
