Bundle of Booklet Registers

The booklets below are registers of the poor persons in Altrincham who were recipients of charity bedding; a single register covers several years. Recipients are listed alphabetically, and below every name the quantity of bedding received each year is recorded. Rather than being revised annually, a register once compiled was used for several successive years, with the names of new recipients being added to an additional list, either at the end of a booklet (EGR8/4/1/6 & /7), or in a separate booklet (EGR8/4/1/3, /4 & /9). Some of the booklets are annotated "Lord Stamford" or "L.S." on the front cover, indicating that they were copies retained by the Earl of Stamford.
