Notes on contributors

This series consists of the biographical and career details of CQ contributors supplied largely during the 1980s. Contributors were asked for information on themselves to include in the 'Notes on contributors' section at the back of each CQ issue. These brief notes were then compiled from the information supplied. Many of the notes were embedded or enclosed in letters, which were then separated from the rest of the correspondence into a file of their own. Some of the writers supplied different notes for different issues, and there is also a small quantity of more general correspondence which was also kept with the notes. It seems that Brian Cox kept all the contributor notes together, as many of them are addressed to other editors, in particular Maureen Duffy, who then sent them on to Cox. There is also a bundle of typescript notes on contributors for different issues, presumably prepared as printer's copy.

The majority of these letters and notes were kept alphabetically in one file, with a separate file of typescript notes compiled from the writers' own notes, to be used as printer's copy. Others were dispersed among the loose correspondence and have been reconciled with the other notes.
