These papers represent Dyson's work as an editor, literary critic and educator. They include correspondence with R.S. Thomas, Thom Gunn and the publishers, Macmillan. There are also inscribed first editions of poetry by Thomas, Gunn and Ted Hughes. Papers, notes, correspondence and newspaper cuttings are present for Dyson's editorship of Casebooks; the Black Papers; Critical Quarterly; and Norwich Tapes. Also included are typescript drafts of Dyson's semi-autobiographical work, The Fifth Dimension, which was published in 1995.
