Correspondence relating to the winding-up of the Bolton Operative Cotton Spinners' Association, which was removed from the list of trade unions on 21 February 1975. The branch had effectively ceased to exist in late 1973, though former staff were active for some time after in settling its affairs. The file contains correspondence relating to a corporation tax demand for 1973. An investment book is also included, dating from c.1920, which was apparently used in the matter of the tax demand.

This material is filed in ACS rather than the Bolton Cotton Spinners (BCS) archives, because the documents were transferred to the Amalgamation, which was responsible for the winding-up of the Bolton Association.
