Sent from Reading [probably to Dora and Barbara in Paris] regarding not writing to them for a while, not being able to get a maid, worrying about tiring out Mrs Chamberlain and a story about her being deaf, guests for tea and supper on the previous day, a lecture from Sir Hubert Parry on the development of song, ghastly hearing Mozart's Violet with feeble English words, Pater [W. G. Collingwood] returning, floods in Paris, spending the day with the Hilliards, expecting Katie and Greta to tea on their way from seeing Wilfred off to South Africa, and whether Dora wants her to post her eiderdown.
