The collection contains notes, typed drafts and detailed bibliographies for a projected work on the history of British taxation from the 18th century onwards. Also in the collection are notes on friendly societies in Wales, a volume of lectures on economic history together with a Hebrew composition exercise book, 1916.

David Evan Evans (1898-1951) was tutor-in-charge of Extra Mural Studies at University College of South Wales and Monmouthshire 1949-51, having for many years previously been a staff tutor.

Access is available by prior appointment.
Acquisition Information
In 1952, University College Cardiff purchased Evans' large library of printed books together with a small collection of papers.
