Papers of the Innominate Club (Liverpool)

Scope and Content

The collection consists mainly of bound volumes of papers read at meetings of the Club 1930-1938, each volume covering one year. (NB: the volume for the year 1934-1935 is missing.) There is also a list of the Club Rules, and a single paper from 1983.

Administrative / Biographical History

The Innominate Club was founded in December 1930, as a dining/debating society for medical practitioners. For the first few years of its existence meetings were held in members' homes, and subsequently in various Liverpool University premises. At each meeting a paper is given, usually of a non-medical nature, and a discussion is then held. Currently the Club, which is still thriving, meets six times per year.
