Scope and Content

This file was orignially titled 'Patronage and Sponsorship N-Z'

Typescript letter of Britten's resignation of his Vice-Presidency to the Workers' Music Association.

Includes letter from Pamela Spofforth of the Pro Corda National Association for Young Chamber Music Players in 1977 to Rosamund Strode and Peter Pears, including a fundraising appeal booklet.

Also includes handwritten lists of Britten's sponsorships, with plans to resign and letters between Rosamund Strode and Isador Caplan.

Rosamund Strode dealt with Britten's resignations and correspondence with sponsorships throughout the 1970's and after Britten's death. These letters may have been gathered together so that Strode could deal with resignation letters and correspondence. Further correpondence for some associations may also be found elsewhere in the BPF collections.
