To her mother from Naini Tal. Rain has come at last to prevent the expected famine. People were already selling children; 4 annas for a 1 year old, 8 for a 2 year old. Hundreds bought by missions and put in orphanages. Hoping for wonderful mountain views when the weather clears. Beginning to think it might be better to delay return to England until 1879; she could then stay 2 years instead of only 6 months.
