Part of the letter is blotted out with non-transparent paper pasted on and efforts to read it not very successful. However we are convinced that there is no scandal in the obliterated sections only rude remarks about a relative's house. The 'He' and 'his' in the letter are just 'Ford' - i.e. letter written in the third person and not about third party. The letter was found in a book which the letter is about, 'Mr. Elliott' by I.O. Ford 1901) Thanks him for his remarks about the book 'so exactly what I want people to say about it' With envelope and attempt at translation.
