Manuscript notes, four folded sheets. Notes for a speech at Cambridge, 3 Oct 1916, 'Present Parliamentary Position'. Amazing industrial capacity of women revealed by the war, with examples and quotes from industrialists. Consequent change in public opinion. Discusses men's worries about what will happen to jobs now occupied by women after the war, and the TU demands of the Home Office to automatically revoke women's licences after the war. Question of women's suffrage has come up, not raised by the NUWSS, but by others and by the issue of the Register.
