Written from Geneva. Copy by Mr Llewelyn. Emilie is writing for her husband Pere Hyacinthe who was invited by Josephine Butler to speak at the meeting at Sheffield. (See letters 14, 26 and 29 Oct). He finally decided to accept Mrs Butler's kind invitation. Emilie had been very ill for several weeks so one reason for the delay in replying; now she hopes to be able to accompany him. As there may be some minor points of difference between them they would like to meet someone on their arrival who was entirely conversant with the views and aims of English society.
