Scope and Content

Written from Brizlee, Wooler, Northumberland

To say Miss Forsaith has sent her on a letter from her to Henry Wilson (her letter enclosed). When first she received Maurice Gregory's letters in type she understood they were to be circulated to a 'few selected friends' in that form. But when he told her that they were going to be printed for general circulation she did not approve. But she is now relieved to hear that the 'Friends Abolitionist Association' have taken on the task of cutting down his report so the matter may be safely left in their hands.

Administrative / Biographical History

'I wrote many letters to Maurice Gregory ... to endeavour to correct some of his impressions, and to modify ... a rather pedantic and inflated style'
