Has come around a little cabinet of Eva's (the daughter who fell over the stairs and was killed when she was six) and in it is the first plaster cast of her face taken straight off as she laid dead. She has spent her sister's kind gift of 200 francs on a fur cape and muff (last page missing).

Mrs Meuricoffre = her sister. 'It is such a business turning out the accumulations of 17 years.' This was preparatory to the move to Winchester which took place at the end of the first week in Nov. 'Eva' JB's only daughter who was killed by a tragic accident shortly before the Butlers moved to Liverpool in 1866. 'Thekla' a daughter of 'Hatty' born in 1866. She was the only daughter left, two having died in 1866.
