Written from Pitsmoor, Sheffield. He sends on letters from Mrs Butler and Miss Wolstenholme as requested. He does not endorse Mrs Butler's view of Mr Herford though his acquaintance with him is slight. To combat the difficulties he suggests a 'converging fire' to be poured into Manchester with every means at their disposal.
Mr Joseph Edmondson writes his reply at the end of Mr Wilson's letter. He has formed a higher opinion of Mr Herford than Mrs Butler's letter indicates. 'He is earnestly with us, but he is extremely cautious in what he says...not to be considered as a fault.' The writer also in favour of a Free Trade Hall demonstration.
