Scope and Content

Correspondence relating to the Vic-Wells Ballet including correspondence with representatives of various organisations, composers and designers. The letters relate to a wide variety of matters such as proposed performances for the International Exhibition in Paris, requests for Ninette de Valois to give talks, publications and films about ballet, correspondence relating to ballet productions, and a request to use Rex Whistler’s designs for an exhibition.

Some of the correspondents include Rosamond M. Day (British Council), Alec Robertson (BBC), M. Rosslova (Ballet Circle), Yves Goeau (Sao Breiz), M. Glasgow (CEMA), Deryck Lynham (Ballet Guild), Arnold Haskell, Theodore Winston, Arthur Bliss, Lilian Baylis, Ernest Markower, and Geoffrey Toye.
