Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
These handwritten travel journals record visits beyond Algiers to other towns and areas where initial surveys and ministry were undertaken. The Blida journals record the pioneering work done in the town of Blida from 1901-1905, before a mission station was established there. Lilias' and Blanche Haworth's names appear frequently, but other Band members also went to Blida, including May Eustace, Helen Freeman, Gertrude S T, Constance S. The material affords insights into pioneering strategy and methods used by the Algiers Mission Band in the region.
