The Marine Technology Consortium was a joint enterprise of the Universities of Liverpool, Manchester, Salford, UMIST, and University College of North Wales, Bangor in the field of marine engineering research. The agency was based at the University of Manchester. Most of the papers relate to the financing of the body; there is also correspondence with the Science and Engineering Research Council about its research work.
