Scope and Content

The Debating Society was an affiliated society of the Owens College Union. Its purpose was to provide a forum for medical students to discuss matters of medical education. Until after the formation of the MSRC in 1901, it was also responsible for hosting social events for medical students, including the annual dinner. The MMSG was originally managed by the Society. The Society was governed by a committee of a president, two vice-presidents, a treasurer, and six representatives. It does not appear to have survived the Edwardian period.
